I'm alive

2 min read
What's happening, everybody? Hope all of you have been well lately!

I'm writing this to let you all know that I'm alive an well!

I agree, I've been on a long hiatus and haven't been active in almost a year and a half. This period has been very busy for me, including changing jobs and various other personal events. I didn't have as much to write as I did before, which explains why in the past six months I've only written three poems. I've written some other pieces in this year and a half, but all of them have been personal pieces that have only been read by few. They all reflect the changes that have been going on in my spiritual life.

Furthermore, all my creative force has been focused on my novel lately, on which I've been working, off and on, for the past few months. Sadly, I don't have as much time as I wish to focus on my creative projects and my writing days are pretty much reduced to weekends only.

That being said, I just wanted to assure you that I'm alright and, on this occasion, I want to apologize for my prolonged absence.

Take care and best of luck in your artistic endeavors! :)

Hello, my fellow Deviants, artists and friends!

As you no doubt have noticed, I haven't posted anything since August last year and have been completely away since November. I've been in a self-imposed, prolonged hiatus due to various, important, even life-altering, changes in my professional, spiritual and artistic life. These made me put away my writing activities for a time.

First off, I have a new job since November that took me some time to get comfortable with. It is pretty time consuming because, more often than not, I'm required to stay there from morning till evening and sometimes even on Saturdays. But I like this job and post, so I'm not bothered too much by this inconvenience.

Second, there have been slow, but steady and life-altering changes in my spiritual life as well, changes which began more than a year ago and reached the apex last month. These changes continue and grow day by day, basically accelerating. They completely changed my life on every level, as well as its philosophy, how I view the world, gave me a new sense of purpose and made me a better person. These changes extend to my artistic side as well.

These two, along with a few other reasons, made me enter into an artistic hiatus. Even though I did manage to get some writing done in this period, those works were nothing more than exercise pieces and most of them were left unfinished. Another reason is that I've also started working on a collection of poems that I intend to publish so, for that reason, I won't post them on DA.

I want to take this opportunity to apologize for my sudden and prolonged absence. I also want to apologize if I've worried some of my watchers. I'm still alive and well, just away for a time and it may remain like that for a while.

Hello, my fellow deviants and watchers! You must have noticed my lack of activity this past month or more. I've been on leave, did almost no writing during this time and all my projects have been put on hold. I went through sort of a severe lack of inspiration "syndrome" and I wanted to get away from it for a while, take some time off to regain my inspiration, open my mind to new ideas and possibilities.

This past week I've been sketching down some ideas for new works and I thought the time has come to come back and start to once again put words on paper (or screen). This week I will start developing those ideas and turn them into new works. At the same time, I will also resume work on the projects I've started, but put on hold, including finishing my grand poem about the White Star Line ships.

I want to take this opportunity to welcome my new watchers and hope you will enjoy reading the works I will post in the future. Thank you for your support and I hope this is the start of a new, productive period.

Poem update #2

1 min read
Hello, everyone! I wanted to give you a new update regarding my poem project, "Olympic Class Chronicles".

It currently clocks in at 94 stanzas, with the Titanic section still being the longest, followed by the Olympic not far behind, while the Britannic one is still under development. I still haven't started working on the first and last parts; I'll start working on those after I've finished writing the parts dedicated to the ships. As a rough estimate, I would that it is about halfway done.

I can't say an estimated date for its completion yet, as I will be pretty busy in the next week or so and I have other projects queued, including a story I'm currently writing for a competition. But I'll still spend as much time as I can working on it.

Hello there! As you know, I have started writing a massive poem almost two weeks ago dedicated to the Titanic and her two sister ships and I wanted to give you a little update.

So far, the poem has 40 stanzas spread across Parts II, III and IV, the ones dedicated to the ships themselves, with the Titanic one being the most advanced. After being off to a pretty hazardous start, I've organized my writing and right now I'm working on one particular ship per day. After I feel those three parts are completed, I shall start working on the first and fifth ones, which so far don't have a single stanza written. From a writing perspective, some days are faster, some days are slower and I had four consecutive days in which I haven't written a single word. And the parts are getting pretty complex, especially the Titanic one (the moments preceding the iceberg collision and the moment of the collision itself stretch across 15 stanzas alone). That section is the only one that has a pretty well defined contour. The other ones are pretty scattered, with a few stanzas here, a few more there, giving the poem a somewhat sketchy look.

The poem still has a long way to go and it won't be finished for at least a month, but I'm very pleased with its overall look so far. It's off to a very promising start :)
